Beaded Napkin Rings

Good Things Utah

Friday 14, 2014

Supplies

Beads of all sizes

Findings

28 ga. Wire

Beading tools

Embellishments

Instructions
Cut about 10 inches of wire…I like to cut a bunch at one time so it’s all ready to go.
Gather all your beads together and line them up in a pattern you like.
Start stringing your beads on the wire adding silvers or gold finding in-between each bead.
It takes about 14-16 beads to have a good napkin ring.
Once you have your beads the way you like them twist the wire so it makes a circle.
You can just twist your ends or add an embellishment to the top and you’re done.

These napkin rings will last year after year and be a beautiful statement piece for years to come.

Beaded Napkin rings

Beaded napkin rings
Home is the place where you gather all your loved ones around the table all in one place so why not have a little something that you've created for them to take home ,I showed how to make these on Good Things Utah today and wanted to share it with you.
This is such a fun craft to dress up your Thanksgiving table and then to give to your guests to take home for their tree.

Supplies needed for this craft
  • Wire all colors
  • Wire snips
  • Clay
  • beads and findings
  • poker , toothpick or wire to make your hole with
  • Tool to curl your wire, a pencil or wood dowel will work
  • ribbon
  • To create your clay beads Ive shown you how to slice the clay so you will have 16 beads out of one block of clay
  • after rolling the clay in a ball carefully take your poker and create the hole in the center of the bead BEFORE you bake it
  • BAKING; I like to set my oven at 275 and place my clay in a glass baking dish and bake it for 10 minutes (don't over cook)
  • When you clay comes out of the oven it will be so so hot be care full
  • The thing I love about my clay beads is they will last forever they don't break, scuff or dull

Time to put your napkin ring together you can create a pattern or what ever matches your table and tree

 Napkin Holder
I think you will love this simple project that will make a big impact, your guests will notice how darling this is. Everyone needs napkins so why not create a fun napkin holder you can use all month long for under $3.00. I went to IKEA and found this fun clear napkin holder and look what you can do.

Supplies needed for this project
I got my napkin holder from IKEA 1.99 (WOW)!!!
  • Tacky tape
  • All colors of craft paper
  • Thanksgiving stickers
  • Hot glue gun
  • I used my wire curler to curl the ends of my flowers
  • Ink if you want to ink the edges of your paper
I traced my napkin holder on my paper so it had a perfect fit

Add a little tacky tape, hot glue gun or your favorite glue
just make sure it holds really good because it will be handed
around the table
For the embellishing I ripped some of my paper so I
could ink the edges used my tacky tape and attached it to the
back of my strip of paper

Tips
  • When ripping paper remember if you rip down you wont have the rough edge you can ink
  • If you rip up you will create an edge where you can ink the edge or have the white color of the paper show
  • Any color of paper would be beautiful for this project make it match you table decor as you can see I added glitter balls on my flowers to give it a little bling.
Enjoy creating your home should tell a story of who you are
